If you do not have the XP CD, then how do you expect to install XP, after you format. ????

There are many third-party products that can format your drive, but you'll still need the CD to re-install Windows.

Please let us know if you found someone's advice to be helpful.

What is the Make and Model of the computer ???

Some computer Makers have other ways, such as a Recovery partition. Contact the Manufacturer or visit their Support website, for how to do things.

You realize that formating will essentially erase the hard drive, right? If you don't have an XP CD, what operating system are you going to install after the drive is wiped?

Jimmy, why do you want to format your drive anyway.

Post your computer model.

Unless the computer has a restore partition then you have to get XP operating system from somewhere (unless you write your own LOL).

I believe there are some downloads, which I know little about, but they would still have to be purchased. They might not be legal and could be virus ridden.

You could consider Linux freebies.
