I can't print in colour on network printers.

June 4, 2013 at 01:41:23
Specs: Windows XP
Running Windows XP. Four colour printers of different types are attached via an ethernet network. Sending colour prints to any of them results in only a black/white image being printed,
whether it's coloured text or coloured images.

The most common cause of that problem is having the wrong printer drivers installed, or the installed drivers have become corrupted and need re-installing.

Are you mapping to them by IP address or going through a print server? Many times, sys admins will default the print job to black and white to save on color toner. Make sure the print in color option is selected.

Thanks for the suggestions. Again, they are not serviced by a print server and colour options were chosen before submission.

Do a direct connect and see if you can print in color.

BTW if the printer is on a network it is connected to a print server. That print server maybe built into the printer but there has to be a print server or its not a network printer.

Answers are only as good as the information you provide.

"Again, they are not serviced by a print server and colour options were chosen before submission"

You never mentioned either of those in your first post so there is no again.

What make and model printers are these? When you re-installed the drivers, did you use that ones that came with the disk provided with the printer or did you go to the manufactures website and download the newest ones? I would suggest getting the latest drivers and trying those.
