Specs: Windows xp
I have a wireless connection to my desktop computer. The computer was set up (by a friend) to log onto windows XP on the internet. After the modem was switched on my friends wireless connection, I tried to get back into the computer but now can't. Can someone help me please?

The lack of a wireless connection will not prevent you from booting into Windows. All it will do is prevent you from accessing the internet. If the wireless modem was changed, the network ID & password have probably changed too. That means you (or your friend) will have to reconfigure the network settings on your desktop to allow you to connect to the new wireless network.

"set up.....to log onto windows XP on the internet"
Do you mean that when you started the computer it would go straight to the Internet rather than the desktop? If not let us know what it was doing.

"I tried to get back into the computer but now can't"
Please explain exactly what happens and how far you get.

The reason for the above questions is that starting a computer normally has nothing to do with the internet - it just goes to the desktop.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
