|We need a bit more information. |
When the blue screen appears, what is the error code (or other message)given?
At what stage is it hanging during startup? e.g. Windows loading screen, BIOS loading screen, Logon screen, etc.
Have you tried running Memtest? it can be downloaded free, and burned to CD, to create a bootable CD. Boot from the CD and run all tests. Do the results show any memory problems?
Have you tried re-seating all hardware components? Unplug and re-plug all connectors and add-on cards, including your memory (RAM) modules. Sometimes a connection will get a bit dodgy (from dust, corrosion, etc.) and just needs re-seating.
Does your hard drive make any unusual noises (scratching, clicking, squeaking, etc.)? If so, back-up all important data, as your drive may be close to failing. If you don't back-up your data, you could lose it all.
Try each of the above, then post back with any further information/results. This shouldn't be too hard to fix, providing you give clear and complete information. Just about any of the regulars on these forums will have the knowledge and skills to help with your problem (given the right information).
Please let us know if you found someone's advice to be helpful.
