roybem, What are the file extensions (jpg, pps, etc) of the attachments? Do you get an error message when you try to open them?

Wouldn't it be "nice" if we knew which email client program is involved here? Does this apply to ALL attachment-types? And, yeah, as Tufenuf suggests, a transcript of any error messages would be useful. As it stands, we are being set up for lengthy guessing games.

You still haven't told us what email client you are using. We are very willing to help you but you need to provide more information if you want help.

roybem, regardless of which client you use, Irfanview (free) can open the attachments. Recommend you get/use it. An excellent graphics program.
I use it and have it open all (setting in it). Sadly, don't have a link (Irfanview.com?) for you, but Google should have it.

roybem, Can you open other jpg files which are on your computer? Open Outlook Express, click Tools>Options, under the Security tab uncheck "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that potentially could be a virus", click Apply/OK.
