Have a look at this article: http://www.starr.net/is/type/kbh.html, which gives a number of ways of getting accented characters in Windows. I use the Alt-key in conjunction with the numerice keypad (press the NumLock key if it doesn't work), so would use <alt>-0241 to get the character you require. (Note - this has to be the numeric keypad, not the numbers on the top row of the keyboard.)

What ijack said: Alt 0241 = ñ

• Press 'n hold the Alt key
• type those numbers on the numeric pad (0241)
• release the Alt key
ñ magically appears at your cursor position

GO to text services and input languages. Set the language to "Spanish international sort" and the keyboard to "US international" . Pres shift + ~ and then pres "n" to type an ñ . You can also use ' and a vowel to have a vowel with tilde... like ó.

Latindude, if you are interested in more
ASCII Characters, you could go to
http://www.asciitable.com/
Scroll down to the Extended ASCII Codes.
It is a picture that shows 128 three digit numbers and codes.
Save that picture to a location of your choice.
Press and hold the Alt key
type the required numbers on the numeric pad
release the Alt key, Bingo
