Solved I am missing file: ialmn5.sys on my Win XP

Specs: Windows XP, P4 2gig RAM
Using my XP Pro system Reinstallation CD, I did a "repair" and I got a message during the repair that File: ialmn5.sys needs to be installed. I tried using Dell Drivers and resource disk but it was not on it.
Is File: ialmn5.sys a driver for my microsoft graphic card?

where can id go for this file and how do I install it when I find it?

✔ Best Answer
Go to, enter the Service Tag of your system, and you can either let the Dell System Detect run, or you can install the drivers yourself.

Doing the best I can here... And remember, there's always more than one path to success. :)

Microsoft doesn't make graphics cards. What prompted you to repair Windows? Find out exactly which graphics card or integrated graphics chip your system has & then download/install the appropriate graphics driver.
