hp printer will not install xp

Specs: Windows XP
I have a HP 3050A All-in-one-J611 Printer. I can not get it to install on my pc. I've already installed the software, and used the USB cable. I had it installed once, then lost the internet service from AT&T, then when it came back on my computer was messed up and now it won't install my printer. What do you think is wrong?

When you installed the printer's drivers, did you have the usb cable plugged in or not to the computer? Cable to the printer shouldn't be plugged in at first during install of the drivers. At some point during the install it will tell you to plug the cable in.

"lost the internet service from AT&T, then when it came back on my computer was messed up"

There's more going on here than just a printer problem.
Loss of internet service by itself cannot cause the kind of problems you have.
In what other ways was your system "Messed up" ? Why did you lose internet service? Was your system infected by something while you were browsing?
Have you uninstalled the printer software & drivers and started the installation process from scratch? Is there something wrong with the USB port? What if any error messages do you get? Does something appear in Event Logs that might lead to an answer?
