Completely disassembled ZE4600 looking for physical damage and to clean up, mostly dust. Reassembled machine powers up, appears to read hard drive but won't display anything on screen. Audio doesn't work and so, no start up beeps. Light on DVD tray flashes about once every second. Worked OK before disassembly (all but sound). Appreciate any guidance you can offer. Thanks!, Al

Start up beeps do not need Windows sound, a small squeaker (my jargon) is fitted on the motherboard. Two things can happen in this situation, mis-plugging or something not firmly pushed home. Another is that the slightest movement can cause an edge connector to move onto oxide despite it being connecting perfectly for years. Clean edge connectors of RAM, circuit cards, SATA power and signal connectors, with a soft pencil eraser. Plug the cleaned items in and out a few times to clear any oxide off the sockets before pressing them firmly home.
Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
Sounds like you have a loose connection somewhere. What did you use to "clean" the system?
How did you clean the parts after dis-assembly? If you used a vacuum cleaner you may have damaged them from static discharge. You can also generate a static discharge from your body.
