Your computer won't work without a bios. Why do you ask?
The BIOS is not a Windows component, so I guess I don't understand what you're asking? What is the make/model of your motherboard & which BIOS is currently installed?
Without the BIOS there is nothing to load Windows and Windows cannot load itself. It needs a lot of help from the BIOS, as does any Operating System. Stuart
Loading an OS without the BIOS is like a person going straight to adulthood without the intermediate stages of infancy and childhood. Can't be done.
Should point out to the OP that the BIOS isn't necessarily accessed by pressing F1, it's more often the F2 or 'Del' keys - maybe that's where the problem lies? "I've always been mad, I know I've been mad, like the most of us..." Pink Floyd
Sounds like the OP is having an issue with booting directly into Windows. Having to use F1 first.
I was thinking F1 was the BIOS version, I didn't consider he was asking about the need to press the F1 key.
