Recently, in an effort to hide a program from an unauthorized user, I did something that has so far proven to be unreversible. I'm hoping you can help.

I went to Start>All Programs and then right clicked on the program of interest. Then I clicked on properties and then changed the file type to hidden. The program immediately disappeared in the All Programs list.

Now, I can't unhide the program. The program is still listed under programs on my computer, but I can't figure out how to put it back on my All Programs list.

Can you help?

Open the Control Panel and launch (double-click) the “Folder Options” icon.

Select the “View” tab.

Under “Files and Folders” – “Hidden files and folders” , select “Show hidden files and folders”.

Click the “OK” button.

You should now be able to see the program you previously set as “hidden”. Its icon will be slightly lighter in color than normal, indicating that it is a hidden file.

Just right-click on the file and select “Properties”.

Select the “General” tab.

Un-check the “Hidden” attribute.
