How to set up an internet with no drivers?

August 7, 2010 at 19:59:03
Specs: Windows XP
I recently installed a new hard drive into an old computer because it was failing. Long story short I'm (fairly) certain there is a way to allow for an ethernet connection without the internet drivers. I did it before but I can't recall how, am I crazy or can somebody help me out here?

You have to tell us more details on how your computer is connected to the internet.
Is it connected directly to a modem or is it connected to a router?
Is it wired or wirelessly connected?

The original poster should always write the last response !!!
Let us know, if the problem is solved !!!

Then you need to identify the network card and instal it's drivers before you can connect to the net. If the NIC is onboard rather than a PCI plug-in card then your motherboard driver disk should have appropriate drivers.
