Specs: Windows XP
I have windows XP professional installed on
my machine,
In my control panel, in the section ADD new
programs, I have a list of exe’s mentioned and
there is an option to ADD(install that exe.)

How can I get that exe, I mean to retrieve exe
from control panel save to a local folder.

Any help is appreciated.

If they are listed then they are already installed, unless you removed them improperly.

Depends on the program. Most programs that are shown in control panel will not be easy to move. They are normally integrated into the registry.

To save the computer you would have to use ntbackup with system state.

"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10

Misread what you want to do. You can't get a program off the installed partition and move it somewhere else. That is by design. You need to re-install it wherever you want to use it.
