how to save my favorites to external hardrive

How would you transfer any other files or folders from your PC to the external drive?

Assuming IE (not clearly stated): • Open IE • File • Import and Export... • Next > • Select Export Favorites • Next > • Select all of your favorites, or just a particular folder • Next > • Choose a location • Next > • Finish

I assumed IE because he mentioned Favorites, not Bookmarks. Why not just go to C:\Documents and Settings\user name\Favorites, copy the folder, then paste to the external?
