Solved How to repair icons?

Hello to everybody!

I updated my iTunes and then the disaster came...
All the extension files became unrecognisable by the system.... xls, doc, txt, everything started to have the same icon...

When you double click the file it launches the right program, i.e. Excel, Word, etc... but looking in Explorer you cannot distinguish in a folder each file type...
Can someone help with an idea?

✔ Best Answer
It could be that the iconcache.db file has lost its way. If this is the case deleting it and restarting the computer a few times should fix it. See here for detail:

If the above suggestions do not sort it then it might be something completely different but it's the best first thing to try.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Thank you Derek!

It didn t work. I just put another healthy image with Ghost on it. I had to update everything, but this is it.

Regarding iTunes, I managed to install it properly by closing the antivirus and firewall..
And I made another updated image with Ghost.. Just in case..

Sounds like it wasn't an iconcache issue after all. Glad to hear you sorted it and thanks for popping back to let us know.
