how to reinstall xp on acer aspire netbook

February 17, 2013 at 13:02:36
Specs: Windows XP
I have a netbook that crashed, therefore I cannot boot it up. I have tried accessing the erecovery partition, but have been unable to do so because I just get a curser that is not flashing. It does not even beep anymore when I press Alt+F10. So, I think that I need to reinstall windows. The problem is that I have no CD drive. Please help.

When you start up the netbook do you see any screens showing the hardware configuration? You can tap the scroll Lock or Pause keys to stop the screen so you can read it. tapping again allows it to continue.

You do not state what is wrong with the netbook. If the hard drive has died then you will not be able to run erecovery because the required files are on the hard drive.

Read the link below for the proper procedure to perform an erecovery.

The Acer splash screen pops up, then I get a message reading "error loading operating system". I have tried every method to get to the erecovery and nothing works. I have tried making sure that the D2D is enabled& pressing Alt and tapping F10. This all started when my netbook installed windows updates on Wednesday. I came home on Thursday to find that it never shut off. It still said do not unplug your machine. It was frozen, so I turned it off and turned it back on. Since then, I have been unable to boot my computer up.

You are waiting way to long to hit the keys. Start as soon as you start the computer.

Just tried that. It didn't work. I have also gone on YouTube trying any method possible, and none of them worked.
