Specs: windows XP professional, pentium4 750MB ram
Hi there, i was able to build a set of computer that i've just gathered out of scrap and when i turn on the pc there's a win98 installed in the HDD. what im planning to do is to remove all its contents as if its new, and im going to install winXP professional in it. what should i do first to reformat the pc?

by the way, the pc that i build is pentium4 with 750MB RAM and it has no cd-rom drive.

also how can i add another HDD on it just for additional space as the first HDD that has win98 is just 20GB.

During Windows XP installation, you can choose to format the harddrive, before continuing the installation.

The more interesting question is, how will you get Windows XP installed, if there is no CDROM drive in the system?

You can simply mount another harddrive, connect it to the motherboard, connect the power cable for the harddrive and maybe enter the BIOS, to see, whether the newly mounted harddrive is recognized.
If you connect the second harddrive to the same IDE cable, make sure, the jumpers of the harddrives are properly set to master and slave mode.
