Which type of files are you asking about - MP3's? You have to realize that MP3's are compressed audio files...the compression ratio is approx 10:1. That means when you convert them to CDA's to be able to play on a standard CD player, they will grow to approx 10 times their MP3 size.
In other words, a 5MB MP3 will become a 50MB CDA. 700MB / 50MB = 14 songs per CD.
