You're using a 64-bit processor, but are you trying to install a 32-bit or 64-bit version of Windows XP? Is the license legal? Is this a fresh installation, or upgrade from XP vanilla or SP 1?

Apologies if I don't respond to your reply immediately. I don't check this site daily, but you're welcome to PM me as a reminder.

If this is a NEW laptop that came with WIN7 or perhaps Vista pre-loaded then you are likely to run into major headaches finding XP drivers for things such as the graphics, sound, ethernet network card, wireless network card, USB bus etc.

Did you do any research before beginning the task? How about posting some detailed information on the system as well as specifics of the blue-screen error message.

XP needs drivers if they are even available to be installed in the disk before you try to load it.

Better to use a virtual machine.
