Specs: re, Intel Dual Quad core
How to install or if I can repair Win XP on a SATA drive. I have this computer and it is boot looping. And can not start in Safe mode or any at all. So I thought I would reinstall Win XP. It seems quite the challenge. Did research And got more confused. Thank in advance.

you need to find out the motherboard model and download the appropriate SATA driver to a floppy disk.
When you boot up your XP install disk the first prompt is Press F6 to load drivers. This is what you must do.

Another option is to create your own custom install disk (Slipstreamed) incorporating the SATA driver.

Let me know if you need more info.

Oh buy the way would know why I can't install it on a virtual machine? Starts off OK then when its time to install where you see Enter to install or F3 to quit screen. Says it can't read CD or its not a valid copy of Windows. Its a OEM. Could it be that this Windows is in French. And my machine is in English? Thanks again

You need the SIS RAID driver package for floppy disk maker on that page.

As to virtual machine issue - don't know (French/English shouldn't be an issue as the virtual install is only concerned with itself) - could be there is an issue with the install CD. Which virtual machine product are you using? And on which host o/s? I'd suggest creating an iso image of your CD (apart from anything else, if you can do this, means the CD is readable) and use that to install VM (most VM software allow install from mounted ISO).

Nice ok. The program I use and never had any problems is Oracle VM Vurtual Box. Simple and easy. My OS is Win Vista (no laughing). I have used this program for awhile now and had no problems. This is the first. I did create an image and tried it and it does the same thing as original CD. I will download what you said an let you know. Thanks again.
