that means you want to downgrade your OS. So you have to install WIN XP clean. I mean to say that you have to do a clean installation !! You have to delete all the partitions and format it then install the WIN XP SP3

Does you hardware have XP compatible hardware, why would yo want to run a decade all Operating System ?

You would be better of installing Windows XP in a Virtual PC:

You didn't list your complete system specs & didn't state whether you want to replace Win7 with XP or dual boot XP with Win7? Jolicloud's suggestion to run it in a Virtual PC is probably your best option.

I agree that a virtual machine is the easy way if you have a full working copy of xp.

It may not be possible to install xp as a dual boot over windows 7 unless you get the majority of drivers for xp. I'd slipstream a disk with the drivers for your system.
