Assuming that you have a laptop that has an on board video card using shared memory, you will need to go into the BIOS to increase its maximum memory usage,

Be warned tho. you will loose usable physical memory in windows.

If you are hoping this will improve video performance for games this is unlikely to help much, if at all. Performance is dependent more on inherent characteristics, not how much memory it has. Video in Laptops is rarely upgradeable.

Even if you're able to increase the graphics memory, it's unlikely it will improve graphics performance. Graphics performance depends more on the Graphics Processor (GPU) than on the amount of graphics memory. Your laptop has a weak Intel GPU & there's nothing you can do to improve it's performance.

This entire trend to buy laptops as a primary computer is nothing more than marketing by the resellers. They would have you believe that a laptop can do everything a desktop can do. That is not true.

If you like to play games then you either need to buy a very expensive gaming laptop or buy a desktop and then probably need to upgrade the graphics.
