Specs: Windows XP
how to get rid of messages at windows start up
1- I have barely installed a fresh new Windows xp sp3 and I´ve already gotten at the start up a message :

It comes up together the desktop as the system starts up
"Windows can´t find F:\CDSETUP.EXE , make sure the path has been typed correctly and try again."
ps .: I found on regedit the entry F:\CDSETUP.EXE (Hkey_current_user\ software\microsoft \windows \ShellNoRoam\MUICache)
and delete it to no avail , the problem remains

2- Another problem is the Add new hardware assistant in the attempt to install my scanner ;
It happens that this scanner has a CD with a neat interface that installs all that is necessary to run this device properly.
It was installed so that the scanner is runing perfectly.
It is a long time I have this device and install the same drivers , it worked even in Windows Vista and 7 not to mention
on windows xp sp2 and sp3. It just can be a damn bug.

Well , any of you have some suggestion to fix both problems ?

Did you boot off the CD, delete all partitioning, create one of more new partitions, format as NTFS, then install? If not, tell us how you did it.
