How to format pc?

Specs: Windows XP
How can i format my pc? Should i need mother board cd to format pc? If yes then where can i download it? My mother-board is Giga-Byte GA-8I865GVMF-775 let me know the link for download a cd. I am using windows xp sp2 where can i get it's bootable cd?

You don't need a CD other than your Windows XP CD. You can even format some drives without that even.

Go to Computer Management and select Disk Management and you can format any drive from there except the system or boot drive. If you wish to format either of those drives you need to boot from the Windows CD. You will need to do a installation if you format the system.

No motherboard CD will have formatting facilities on it. Formatting in an Operating System function and is different for each Operating System .

Stuart is correct, although if you do format the boot drive, you will need the chipset drivers cd for your mobo. Not necessarily the cd if you don't have it, but you need to go to the Mobo manufacturers webpage and download the drivers for your audio / lan etc.
