how to format a pen drive with right protection.

Specs: Windows XP, 2GB
This is very frustrating when a newly purchased pen drive do not work while coping or deleting any thing from the pendrive. When ever I am trying to format it, it is showing pendrive is write protected. Really, I tried to find the solution in any tech website but the answers are not satisfactory. If any one knows any such software which opens the write protection, that will be a huge breakthrough in this category.

Thanks, Kinka

First check to see if the pendrive has a "write-protect" sliding switch on it.
If it doesn't have one, read this thread:

Or if like mine, the write protect slider has fallen off, you are going to have to use a bit of sticky tape. A lot less hassle than messing about with the registry.
