Specs: N/A
laptop has crashed, it's on an hp, no installation cd.
It' gets to the windows screen before a blue screen comes up.
Unmountable_boot_volume
and at the bottom,

Lesson No.1 always create a recovery cd. I'm afraid you have had the gong (so to speak).

Basically you need a Full Version of a XP CD, any will do and access the Recovery Console:
