i booted with hirens boot cd an DELLS boot disk and my HD drive isnt C: nor D: in both the pcs i tried to find the HD to formated ...how do i find out which letter drive is my hard disk in DOS...both pcs still boot to windows xp and work perfectly so that kind of tells me the drives r still good
When you are in real-mode DOS drives formatted as NTFS will not have a drive letter and will not be accessible. There are utilities available that can access NTFS drives but I don't know if they come with Hirens boot CD.
