how to enable cdrom drive

Specs: Windows XP
CDROM in a Dell Optiplex 260 has been disabled. It displays this on the F2 setup and is not listed in the Device Manager andf noty listed in the boot menu. How do you re-enable this back on?

For CD/DVD drives
Install > Run the program > Selected Types, tick Optical drives & Click > Scan Registry. When finished, Click > Clean Selected.
For HD's.
Install > Run the program > Selected Types, tick Disk drives & Click > Scan Registry. When finished, Click > Clean Selected.

Thanks John for the reply.
I actually resolved this by going into setup and changing the Secondary drive I believe from Off to Auto, after rebooting the pc the CDROM-READER was now recognized.
I looked at the setup from another PC in our lab and this is how I found what to do.
From what I can see from your reply, their is a different way of doing this as well.
