how to create a new CD drive?

Specs: Windows XP
i had inserted a pendrive for sum dataexchng, but aft removing it, my CD drive ws gone with it... thr ws no more G drive (ie cd drive) on my computer...
how should i get it back?
or cn i create a new CD drive , if yes thn how?
can anyone helpme out,pls?

... you could try System Restore, select a restore point by altering the calendar within the program to a date prior to the problem!

Go to Disk Management and assign a letter to your cd drive.
I usually assign R to cdrom and W to cdrw/dvdrw. This will put the cdrom out of the way from being bumped by usb devices.

Better have your keyboard checked out too, it seems like you're having a problem with the vowel keys.

HI there,

Now-a-days there is a virus spread which actually hide your cdrom letter from My Computer / Device manager etc . so check on google how to kill that and you will get your cdrom back.
