Hi, I had a mobo melt down and had to replace my system. So I did a rebuild an up-dated everything but my optical drives. Now I need to recover some files from the old hard drive. But I have no way to connect tothe new computer. I have a slightly older one with an IDE connector available. I connected it and can boot into either vista or xp. But I am unable to copy any of the xp files. I do not want to clone this older system, just pull files I need from the drive then re-format it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

They sell hard drive enclosures for about $40.00 You can learn
how or what's needed for your IDE hard drive.

connect to your new computer as a slave. If it's Sata you
will need an adapter.
That's about all I know about this subject.
