how to boot up from CD in XP if key board doe

September 25, 2011 at 19:22:02
Specs: Windows XP
I'm getting a black screen with "error loading operating system" in upper left corner.
I've tried every f key suggested with no response. I suspect that the PC is not reading
the keyboard. How do I issue commands without a keyboard. I'm just trying to either
get into safe mode or do a repair install.

I have Windows CD

Help please

Try/borrow another keyboard, use an usb one if needed.

Is the keyboard USB? If so, then the drivers for it may not load until XP loads. If so, and if there's a connector for a PS/2 keyboard, find one and use it.
