Solved how to block secure login website

Specs: Windows XP, pentium 3
I have tried to block this website on computer using windows32 editing with notebook but cannot block it from the computer anyone know of a way to do it. I have blocked other websites successfully but cannot do it with this one. It is a secure login page.

Have you tried adding it to your hosts file?

Yes The hosts file does not work for https (secure websites). I have other websites already blocked but they are http sites not https sites.

I just blocked it in hosts like this:

127.0.0.1 secure.hpibet.com

Thanks Derek, I had tried so many combos of the name but this time it worked. Thanks I had read other posters that had problem blocking secure sites. Don't know why it worked but all I know is it did work. Thanks so much.

The problem was that the poster wanted to block access to the htpps website given in the original question.

It was solved by the suggestion in reply #3.
