2) What I don't see is system specs of any kind.
1) Another thing I see is that you have a perceived performance problem which you can't solve.
2) Another thing I don't see is your rationale for how "wiping out" the OS is going to magically remedy your situation.
At this point, you/we don't know if the problem is software or hardware related. If it is hardware, the "wiping out" shot-in-the-dark is completely pointless.
