If you have enough resources on your laptop [ram especially]
MS Virtual PC or VMware are good choices

Hi, many thanks for your reply. I have 230GB free space on the laptop, with 2GB RAM. The old PC has a 40GB HDD, which is 97% full.... :(

Get VMwares converter or other P2V converter.
Second choice may be to use ntbackup with system state if you have an full xp disk. You could install xp to the VM and then apply the backup to re-create your old xp.

Why did it take me over a year to phone in a problem to ATT?
