Specs: Windows XP Home Edition
I currently have Windows XP Home Edition on my PC and it has been running very slowly and it is getting me behind in my schoolwork. M y friend gave me a Reinstallation CD Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2. So I ran the disk and the computer did it's thing and now it is saying that the 'asms' file is missing and to insert CD again. I have done this a couple of times now and it says same thing. Blue Death Screen appears as BAD POOL CALLER STOP: 0x000000c2 (0x00000007, 0x00000cD4, 0x00340045, 0xE10D8404) I have no clue what to do and I am on a deadline for a school paper. I have called many technicians dealing with Microsoft and they all want my credit card number. I have no credit card. Can anybody please help me?

No Communication With The CD-ROM.

When the message appears, type: Shift+F10 to enter a command session.

Type: regedit.exe at the prompt.

Highlight the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE entry.

Go to the File menu and choose Load Hive.

Then, load %Windir%\System32\Config\System.sav
Give it a short name that you will remember, like "Test".

Then, find this key:

Repeat for ControlSet2 and any other numbered ControlSet keys you see.

you can find this at microsoft page:
