How do I remove it or turn off workline

Specs: Windows XP, 50-60
How do I turn off or disable the "work offline' message? I can't get on the internet.

It depends what browser you are using. If it is IE go to File (at the top left) then near the bottom of the drop down ensure there is no tick in "Work Offline".

If the File and other menus are not available hold down the Alt key first or set them to be permanently in view by right cliking a blank part of the toolbar and selecting "Menu Bar".

I suspect the answer won't be that simple.
The browser defaults to working online as long as a suitable internet connection can be found and is correctly configured.
The "work offline" thing pops up when an internet connection cannot be found.
Q? What kind of internet connection are you using? Wired or wireless?
Have you checked in Control Panel > Network Connections to see whether you have a functioning connection?
