How do I perform HP non-destructive recovery

Specs: Windows XP
How do i do a non destructive recovery on my hp dx2000 mt, and would this be the best thing to do if i have no disks?

Yes i tried that, I have also been in touch with microsoft, they told me in the end to recover my pc to factory settings, completely wipe it, I dont have any disks for reloading anything so i dont wanna wipe windows xp, but i presume everything else i can wipe?

If you have important files on there you want to save you can get them off using a Linux Live CD, such as Puppy Linux, burnt on another computer. Just put your CD drive ahead of the HD in BIOS then boot with the CD in the drive.

Can't help on the recovery - you need to get the disks.

eMachine Windows XP has a way for System Recovery without the disks, I don't know about HP. eMachine has their's listed in All Programs.
Look and see if listed.
