SHS files are not stand alone - they are "scrap" files (ie a snippet).
They won't open in their own right, you have to drag them into Excel or Word.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Tried dragging as suggested. It did not work.
Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Now I'm confused. What is the file type on the USB stick, SHS or something else?

Was working with microsoft excel and dragged a file accross to the usb stick.
I did not realise it would be an shs. Type file.
That file on the stick doesn't "drag".
Do you have any other solution.
I am tring to download the file on my wifes excel.
Weare on holiday and she has her pc.

Only thing I can think of is to copy the file onto the hard disk and then try dragging it into an open Excel page.

Note that an SHS scrap file is not a complete document but "part of a document". I can only imagine that you dragged it onto the flash drive from an open Excel page rather than dragging the file itself. SHS is not a normal application file like xls or doc. So even if you manage to drag it into an Excel file you will not have the full document.

I don't know the full background to this. Has the complete original file been deleted from wherever it was because this dragging should have left it in situ?

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
