Specs: Windows XP
how can I stop my computer from going to the windows sign screen and i have to keep putting my password in?

Here's how:
1. From Desktop, Click on "Start" >> "Run".
2. Then Copy & Paste > control userpasswords2 and press Enter.
3. Uncheck the box for "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer."
4. Click "Apply" and "Ok".

I suspect, from the thread title, that the OP does not want to do away with the password altogether, just stop it appearing when the screen saver kicks in.

Following the procedure listed here: uncheck the box "On resume, password protect". This assumes that this is an individual computer rather than a company one on which security policies have been enforced. (Which is unlikely since surely no corporations that are sensible enough to enforce security policies are still running XP!)
