Solved how can i restore rompaq for my compaq evo d500

Specs: Windows XP, p4 1.88 ghz ram 256
510 splash screen image corrupt
splash image has errors
run ROMPaq to restore
Intel boot version 4.0.19
Pxc 2.1 build 083(wfm2.0)
Rplv2.73

You're sure it's a problem with the bios and not the video controller or monitor?

Go to the support page for your model and download the latest rampaq--a rompaq is what compaq calls a bios upgrade--and follow instructions. Likely if your computer has a floppy drive you will put the upgrade files on a bootable floppy disk.

PS. Put more ram in that thing.

That thing is an antique. It definitely needs more RAM & can handle up to 3GB (3 x 1GB) but good luck finding that in PC133. Also, the message you posted seems to indicate the system is attempting to boot from a network, so that mean there's probably a problem with the hard drive.
