Just launch System Restore and choose a restore point a week or two ago. You've been helped by a 14 year old.
I have been trying that...I know where to go and what to hit...When I do that,,it comes back and says" Nothing has been done to your computer".....I am asking "Why my Windows XP will not let me restore"..
Sorry I did not clarify...
Thanks,
Ric
Have you tested a restore point from farther back, like a month or two? You've been helped by a 14 year old.
No....I have not...I will try that....
Tried to go back to June 26,,,,Same...."nothing has been done to your computer"..
What's up with that???
I don't care if you are 6 years old RMT2...Just need some help..
Thanks,
Ric
Sorry...that "You've been helped by a 14 year old" is my signature. It appears in all of my posts. Try downloading and scanning with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. Download the free version.

Found this on another forum (copy and paste job): File corruption possibly due to infection or damage from bad
install/uninstalls individually or cumulatively.IMO, it's usually not a very good sign.
I'd start by making sure the system had been scanned with:
- updated antivirus
- MS antispyware (if you're running XP or Win2K)
- AdAware Personal SE
- SpyBot search and destroyUpdate all programs before scanning.
My computer runs fine, I wanted to restore to a few days ago, to see if I could eliminate some drivers I downloaded. Found it would not restore. Tried going a month back,,,same,,,tried 2, 3 weeks ago,,,,same....I am trying to find out if anyone has heard of XP not being able to restore like mine. So far everything that was asked of me to do, and I really do appreciate the heIp,,, have done,,,Still same problem. My concern is IF I REALLY need to restore, what do I do???
