Hotkeys in services disabled or no start

October 19, 2011 at 21:20:24
Specs: Windows XP Pro SP3
Broken LCD on laptop, can't switch to external display, because Hot key Poll-er is not working. Tried CTRL + ALT + F5, is default but did not work. Also tried FN + F7, NO LUCK :(

ANY INFO OR HELP WILL BE MUCH APPRECIATED, AND IN ADVANCE!!!

THANK YOU!
MARY

PS: I am the cause for the problem. I was going by a "services properties" info page, because of high CPU. The info either said to disable, or start manually. I can't remember ......

You know, you can replace the screen on a laptop pretty easily and its not very expensive. You can find a screen on ebay, and the sellers usually send instructions with them.

Well, it oculd be that your gaphics card drivers are not up to date, could be that your keyboard has a special function other than the ones you suggested above to toggle to external display, Fn and F10 perhaps.

Could be that the graphics chip itself is damaged and therefore you get no display on either internal or external display.

can you tell us the events that led to your internal display being damaged?
