Hidden Taskbar will not pop up

October 11, 2011 at 06:33:19
Specs: Windows XP
Hidden taskbar will not pop up and I can't get to the Start Button to clear the "Hide Taskbar" checkbox. It is only this way on my user account, not the others on the computer. What did I do wrong?

Press the 'Windows' key on your keyboard (should be the second key to the left of the space bar) and it will bring up the start menu so you can change things as you wish.

Doing this does not allow me to access the taskbar itself with the minimized programs on it. I also need the Start Button to Right Click to access the Explorer function. I know about the Windows key. That's not sufficient for my needs.

Once you have the start button showing then use the cursor keys to move up the menu, this should keep the start button visible & you can then right-click it & deselect 'auto-hide'.

Alternatively there's a taskbar repair tool available at Kellys Korner

I am still struggling with this. "Windows" Key does not bring up the taskbar or the Start button It only brings up the menu with programs at the top, other shortcuts in the middle and the Turn Off/Log Out buttons at the bottom. I have also tried a few of Kathy's tools. No luck. Any other ideas?
