Hi,
A few weeks ago my husband was fooled into downloading a programme called TuneUp which came in when he was downloading a spellchecker.
I have tried to get rid of it and think I almost have except on the iTunes start up. When he launches iTunes from the desktop a message comes up as follows
"Windows cannot find C Program Files Tuneup Media TuneUpApp exe" Make sure you typed the name correctly and then try again" If you press cancel it goes away but you have to press the launch icon half a dozen times before iTunes will start up.
I have looked at TuneUp and it seems there are a zillion complaints about the uninstalling of it.
Please help while we still have a modicum of hair

Try restoring from a point previously to installing the tune up software
Try installing Revo Uninstaller free and see if it picks up TuneUp's installer or remnants of the program. Apologies if I don't respond to your reply immediately. I don't check this site daily, but you're welcome to PM me as a reminder.
Thank you both for your replies We have tried the restore point but of course it won't hurt to go a bit further back in case we have our dates wrong.
Thank you for the Revo Uninstaller tip, we'll give that a go and let you know what happens
Thank you for your time.
