Google - You Tube problem

September 15, 2013 at 09:19:04
Specs: Windows XP

Have previously uploaded 39 videos via the original You-Tube routes. As we all know this has changed, and I went along with the notion that to combine a new Google account with the You Tube one would allow me access to the previous 39, plus continue to add new ones. Wrong!

I can add a new video ( in fact have done so ) but the others are not shown under the new Google account. I can still see the old ones if I enter their generic title via You-Tube, but is there any way in which all the (now) 40 videos, together with their stats, comments etc can be combined under the new account?

Any help would be appreciated…as long as it’s not too technical I guess I could follow it. On the other hand you might all say there is no way it can be done.

This first article says login with your old YouTube credentials and then you'll be immediately prompted to create or connect to a Google account.

Here is a little more reading on it:

Thank you for those links. The first one (Legacy Accounts) I cannot take advantage of because the dates given mean they are outside of my usage ie: I would not have had to have posted anything since 2011...but I have!

By following the links within the remaining two articles you found, indicates that I do in fact have Google & You-Tube linked together. The problem appears to be that by using this new account I cannot access the original series of videos, (numbering 39 in total) nor even see them listed! I actually uploaded a 40th video but that is the only one shown.

This page says you should sign into YouTube using the email address for your old YouTube account and the same password of that account.
https://support.google.com/youtube/...

"You may not know it, but every time you've signed into YouTube since 2011, you've been signing into a Google Account—you access YouTube with your Google Account. The password you've used to sign in is your Google Account password."

And thereby hangs the problem, because each time I try to sign in using my old password / user name I am blocked from doing so because a couple of months ago I changed my ISP for a faster and more reliable service, and so the prompts on that page show the OLD ISP and therefore I cannot proceed further because I am no longer with them.

From what I read on the Internet, countless numbers are all caught up in the Google - You Tube amalgamation problem for a whole variety of reasons. For some there are answers and procedures, but to date I have never come across one that covers a change of ISP preventing access to an old account.
