Solved Fresh install Win. XPpro. no internet

June 28, 2012 at 16:21:12
Specs: Win. XP pro, Amd 64 2.4ghzcpu. 2ghz ram.
I just did a fresh install of XP pro (yes it's mine and it's legal) and haven't been hooked up to a dial up provider for a long time but am hooked up
to a wireless (no cable) broad band provider via an ether net connection from a modem in my house.(everything was working fine before
I did the fresh install)
I need info to get my pc to connect. I've gone into Int. options... int. connections... found broadband connection and added it to the list and still no internet.
How do I fix this?

If you are using a wireless broadband modem, then you will not need to configure any kind of connection on the computer like you used to do with dial-up (since all the configuration settings are usually stored on the router).

My guess would be that you have not re-installed your ethernet drivers. These are usually avalible either from the manufactures website, or on a driver-disk supplied with the computer.

If you post your computers make/model then I can see if I can find the driver setup you require.

✔ Best Answer
Those are minimal specs, we need specific specs. What is the make/model of motherboard? The drivers should be available at the motherboard manufacturers website.
