Specs: Windows Vista
I keep having problems with my computer after it goes on standby or when the screen-saver appears after 10/15mins.

The computer just freezes and becomes completely frozen. I can't even launch the task manager or even shut-down the computer, I literally have to turn it off via' the base or pull the plug in some circumstances!

I know this could damage my hard-drive, so I really need to get this problem sorted and I'm clueless. :( Tried everything.

De-bugging, downloading service packs, but the problem still persists. Any advice or help would be fantastic, it really would!

Thank you,

desktops were not meant for using the standby options from what I know. Laptops were used for that to save battery power.

You should do a bunch of malware checks and clean up your PC.

Some HELP in posting on plus free progs and instructions Cheers

Ok I've tried doing quite a few of these scans from different softwares, the first time I scanned it said I had "1 infected", got rid of that, every scan afterwards didn't detect anything.

Full scans and quick scans were performed.

But... The problem still persists. :(
Is there any other advice for this problem?
