File access problem?

March 2, 2011 at 03:37:21
Specs: Windows XP

I have created a batch file and it executes a program in it.
When I execute this batch file and use > command to log it's execution in a file
(like this: Test.bat > Log.txt), there is no problem and Log.txt is created but when I want to delete it, windows display a massage about access to file and deleting this file is not possible until killing
the program that I have executed in the batch file.
I hope you could me about this problem.

Go to task manager kill the process, which you have executed on batch file.

Thanks, but I don't want to kill this program and I need it to be at running state.

Then why do you need to delete a log entry? If I am not mistaken log entries can be added to previous entries with out a problem. There is no reason to delete the current entry, nor is it possible while the process is running.

These entries do not take up much space so why worry about them?

Actually I don't want to delete this log file and I just want to access it (Open it in a C++ program), but this file is not accessible because the program that started in the batch file is still running. Thanks for your help.
