Hi, buddy
Yesterday I just did what you will do, I copy my intenal disk (80G) to new disk(500G),because the small free space on the original disk, my assistant told me the fast program easeus partition master V6.5.2 home edition can help me, then i google that, and download it to my PC. Amazing!! VERY FAST! THank god, in addition, it's totally free for my home use. If you want to copy disk, you deserve to have a try. iT'S your choice.
BTY, please tell me whether my suggestion is helpful. :)

Most hard drive manufacturers provide utilities to transfer the contents of one hard drive to another. The speed is going to be limited by the hardware. I don't think one will be much different than another.

One thing to keep in mind is this. If you happen to be migrating WinXP from an IDE/ATA hard drive to a SATA hard drive you may run into some problems. WinXP doesn't natively support SATA controllers. Why do you want to do that anyway. Why not just install a second hard drive and have 1/5TB of space total.
