Your modem has a Fan on it really? Um who is the manufacture of your modem? You may need to call their tech support to get it replaced. Your internet service provider may be able to help you with this. Who do you go through to get internet?
Comcast
Then call Comcast's Tech Support the modem they sent you is sealed and if you open it you can void the warranty.
I don t think it is a Modem fan. Modems just do not get hot enough to warrant a fan. If this is an Internal device then I suspect it is more likely to be the graphics card. The only external devices I have ever seen with fans are printers and hard disk drives.
The type number of your Modem and graphics card would be useful.
Stuart
It didn't get hot.
What he is trying to say and I am trying to say is ARE YOU SURE IT IS YOUR MODEM? You may be getting the names of your devices confused.
It is where I turn on the computer.
That is not your Modem that is your Computer or sometimes called CPU. Your computer has more than one fan so as stated above, which fan is not turning on. The Power Supply Fan, the CPU fan or the Graphics Card Fan. If you do not know then I recommend you take it in to a repair shop. If any one of these fans is failing you will eventually fry the device.
